HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. - Stillman College moved to 10-6 in non-conference action Tuesday with a split at Rust College in a pair of one-run games. The Tigers took the first game 7-6 before losing the night cap on a walk-off, 5-4.
Bryant Rhooms had three hits total on the day to lead Stillman's offense in its final non-conference road trip of the season. Stillman has three home non-conference dates remaining.
GAME 1: STILLMAN 7, RUST 6
Stillman stormed out to a 4-0 lead and carried the lead throughout before holding on for a 7-6 win in Game 1.
Bryant Rhooms delivered a one-out, two-run double to put the Tigers on top in the first inning. TJ Davis later drove in
Griff Minor on a sac fly for an early 3-0 lead. The Tigers tacked on a run in the second with a Minor RBI double to left that scored
Devin Kelly.

Rust pushed across two runs in the second and one in the fifth.
Kelvin Reese scored in the sixth to provide a little cushion before the Tigers added two more runs in the top of the seventh on a two-run single by Sammuel Fleming.
Rhooms and Minor each had two hits to lead the Tigers.
Kobe Lewis, Fleming, Kelly, Davis and Reese each had one hit.
Raymon Vaughn pitched the first six innings for Stillman to earn the win.
Cody Clark gave up three runs in the seventh, but pitched out of the jam to leave the tying run stranded on base.
GAME 2: RUST 5, STILLMAN 4
Rust came out on top in a back-and-forth night cap. The Bearcats rallied in the bottom of the seventh on RBI singles to left field by Stone Teague and a walk-off by Jalik Demar.
The Bearcats capitalized on a leadoff walk by Victor Clay to later score on a ground out by Jalin Thomas in the first inning.
Bilal Whittle evened the score in the top of the third with a RBI single to right that scored
Kelvin Reese, who was hit by a pitch to start the inning.
A leadoff single by Clay and sac fly by Craig Robinson put Rust back on top in the third, before Stillman tied the game in the fourth, 2-2, on a Reese RBI single. Rust retook its lead, 3-2, in the fourth.
Stillman scored twice in the top of the sixth to take a 4-3 lead.
Cole Odom singled to center with one out.
Kelvin Reese was then hit by a pitch and
Bilal Whittle walked to load the bases.
Devin Kelly singled in the first run and Stillman took the lead when Whittle stole home.
Odom hit 2-for-3 to lead Stillman in the second game.

Minor (2-3) took the loss in the seventh inning, allowing one run on two hits.
NEXT: Stillman (11-14, 1-8) will travel to Faulkner University for a three-game Southern States Athletic Conference series this weekend.
