Volleyball Falls at Life University

MARIETTA, Ga. - Stillman College traveled to Life University for the Saturday first time as a Southern States Athletic Conference competition in any sport. The 2021 Mid-South Conference regular season champions are a first-year member of the SSAC.

  
The Tigers dropped the match in three sets, falling 25-8, 25-2 and 25-14. While Stillman's offensive attack produced its second-fewest kills for the season, the team also produced its second-fewest total statistical errors of the season, showing improvement in set errors and block errors. 
 
TiAna Lawrence led Stillman with a season-high four kills. Aeraeonna Manuel and Grace Fjeldstad had one kill apiece. Manuel recorded the Tigers' only block. Khadeja Bryant and Madison Bubel each had a service ace. 

Gabrielle Millfort made her Stillman volleyball debut in the match, and Jasmine Taylor also played in the match after making her debut Friday night at Talladega.
 
Chloe Teter and Fayola Louis each had nine kills to lead Life's offense. Madison Lee set 11 assists and Kennedy Neal assisted nine attacks. Amanda Ray was the defensive leader with 10 digs. 
 
Stillman (0-8, 0-7 SSAC) will return home to Birthright Alumni Hall on Friday, Sept. 30 to host SSAC front-runner William Carey University (18-0, 6-0 SSAC) at 6 p.m. The Tiger will remain home Saturday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. against Loyola University (11-7, 4-2).  
 
A previously rescheduled non-conference road match at Oakwood University on Tuesday, Sept. 27 has been postponed.
