Stillman Cruises To First Win, Five Tigers In Double-Figures

GRACEVILLE, Fla – The Stillman men's basketball team picked up its first win of the young season on Saturday afternoon, defeating the University of Fort Lauderdale by a final of 92-63. Five Stillman players scored in double-figures, lifting the Tigers to their highest point total since January of last season.

Stillman controlled the opening tip, allowing Dasean Sellers to score the first bucket just four seconds into the game. A jumper from De'Marrion Baldwin put the Tigers in front 6-5 in the early going, erasing the Eagles' final lead of the afternoon.

Sellers led the scoring over the first 20 minutes, scoring all 14 of his points while shooting a perfect 7-of-7. As a team, the Tigers connected on north of 74% of their attempts from the floor in the first half, carrying a 52-35 advantage into the locker room at the break.

Stillman kept the foot on the gas in the second half, outscoring Fort Lauderdale 40-28 after the intermission. The win improves the Tigers to 1-2 on the year, with all three games so far coming on the road.

A'Dreline Robinson led Stillman in scoring with 15 points on Saturday, while Baldwin and Sellers both finished with 14. Justin Moore and LaMarcus Crawford each came off the bench to pour in ten apiece, while Robinson and Baldwin combined for 15 assists.
