TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A back-and-forth first half gave way to timely shots in the second half for the Talladega College Tornadoes as the visitors handed the Stillman College men's basketball team a 63-61 loss Tuesday night in Birthright Alumni Hall Gymnasium in Historically Black College and Universities Athletics Conference East Division action.

The squads battled to a 28-28 score at the half highlighted by the Tigers (10-7, 8-2) pushing ahead by six points on two occasions. The first came when Tyler Martin splashed a three-pointer with 7:16 left in the half to put the score at 24-18, and the second time came moments later after Kyin Healey made a jumper to go up 26-20 at 5:31 on the clock. Dega finished the half on an 8-2 run to reach the 28-28 tie.

After an even first five minutes of the second half, Talladega pushed ahead to as much as a 14-point lead 56-42 at with 5:30 remaining after a bucket by Shaun Walker.

However, the Tigers would not go quietly as the team posted a 19-7 run to close the game capped by a tough three-pointer hit by Jeremiah Miller to reach 63-61 with 1.3 seconds left. An immediate foul sent Lamont Sams to the line, he missed the free throw, but the last second full-court shot was offline and Dega survived for the road win.

Martin scored a team-high 17 points, Miller and Micheal Taylor both scored 11, while Joshua Price and Calvin Finch, Jr. each scored 10. Miller led on the boards with nine rebounds and dished five assists to pace the offense.
