HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Stillman College rallied late, but was unable to complete a comeback in a 13-7 loss at NCAA Division I foe Alabama A&M University on Tuesday.
Troy Davis hit 2-for-2 with three RBI to lead Stillman, while
Tre'en Dorsett scored a pair of Tiger runs.
Alabama A&M (2-6) took a 8-0 lead through three innings before the Tigers got on the board in the top of the fourth when
Michael Glover scored an unearned run on an RBI fielder's choice by
Sieas Elliott. The Bulldogs stretched their lead to 10-1 in the bottom of the fourth.
Both teams put up a three-spot in the seventh inning. One run scored on a Dorsett fielder's choice, followed by a two-run RBI single by Davis. Stillman scored three more in the top of the ninth. Davis doubled in one run, while Dorsett and Davis each scored on wild pitches.
Six Stillman pitchers saw action through the day, with
Isaiah Hoskins recording the loss, allowing six runs through the first two innings.
Raymon Vaughn, Caleb Schriner,
Dylan Speakman,
Raymond Clark and
Cody Clark also threw.
Stillman (7-7) will return home this week to host Brewton-Parker College in a scheduled three-game Southern States Athletic Conference series at Tiger Field. The schedule has been adjusted to a doubleheader at noon on Thursday, Feb. .29 and a single game Saturday at 1 p.m. The schedule may alter due to weather.
