Tigers Fall at Faulkner, 62-57

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Stillman College dropped its third straight game against NAIA powerhouse programs to open the 2024-2025 season, falling to Faulkner University, 62-57, on Tuesday night.
Stillman newcomers Joshua Price and Jeremiah Miller led the way with 18 and 17 points off the bench, respectively. However, the rest of the Tigers' lineup combined for 22 points, including only 18 from the starters.

The Tigers fell into a 15-2 hole early, but worked the margin to four points, 29-25, later in the second half on a Jaylon Taylor layup. Faulkner led 31-25 at halftime. Stillman once again chipped away at a large deficit in the second half to make it a one-possession game, 48-45, with eight minutes to play, and then two points, 50-48. However, the Tigers were unable to fully close the gap.

Jonathan Garcia led Faulkner with 24 points. Gabriel Rivera had 12 points and T.J. Williams had a double-double 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Over the past weekend, Stillman fell twice to Mid-South Conference foes at the Joe Hardin Classic at the University of Tennessee Southern. After losing to No. 18 University of the Cumberlands, 101-78, on Nov. 1, Stillman lost to the University of Pikeville, 65-61, on Nov. 2.

Brandon Howard scored 23 points to pace Stillman against Cumberlands, with Calvin Finch Jr scoring 18 in his Stillman debut. Tyler Martin added 13 points.

Price led Stillman against UPike with 18 points, while Finch and Martin each scored 12 points on Nov. 2.

Stillman (0-3) will travel to Thomas University in Thomasville, Georgia on Thursday, Nov. 7.
