MARIETTA, Ga. - Four straight wins have Stillman College tied for second place in the Southern States Athletic Conference standings. Stillman's latest win came Saturday, Jan. 13 in front of a strong Tiger alumni showing at Life University, 76-74.
Stillman held a narrow 40-39 halftime lead before Life moved in front and led most of the second half.
Jamar Jackson scored a layup with 5:10 remaining to regain the Tigers' lead, 65-64. Jackson,
Antonio Jones and Marcus Bates Jr combined for the Tigers' final points.
Bates finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds to join
Bailey Talley's 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Antonio Jones also flirted with a double-double with 15 points and seven assists.
Life had four players score in double figures, led by Joshua Ward's 19 points. Nathan Presnell had a double-double 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Dara Olonade scored 16 and Devin Story had 11 points.
Stillman (10-6, 7-2) will travel to SSAC front-runner University of Tennessee Southern (16-2, 10-0) on Wednesday, Jan. 13.
