TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Nomination deadline for the inaugural class of the Stillman College Athletics Hall of Fame has been extended. The Stillman College Athletics Hall of Fame has approved to accept nominations through Sept. 30 for consideartion for the Class of 2023 inaugural induction class.
The Hall of Fame will honor student-athletes who have graduated from Stillman College, coaches, teams, and athletics department contributors. The inaugural class, presented by CDW, will be inducted during Homecoming Week, Feb. 11-19, 2023. Details for the ceremony will be announced later.
Nominations must come from Stillman College alumni by using an online form or PDF copy of the nomination form. Support materials are required, and all nomination forms and support documents must be typed. Submissions should be emailed to
scathletics@stillman.edu. All nominees will have until Oct. 30 to submit support materials, but nomination forms must be submitted by Sept. 30.
Selections for the Stillman College Athletics Hall of Fame will be made by the nine-person Hall of Fame Electoral Board Committee, which includes alumni, coaches, administrators, faculty and staff.
Each year, the Stillman College Athletics Hall of Fame may induct up to 10 student-athletes and/or a team. If for any reason no one is inducted, a catch-up provision may be applied by the President of Stillman College in the ensuing year via an official letter.

STUDENT-ATHLETE
All former athletes must meet the following criteria to be eligible for nomination into the Stillman College Athletics Hall of Fame. No more than 10 inductees will be selected in any given year subject to the following criteria:
1. Must have graduated in good standing from Stillman College with a degree
2. Must have been out of competition for five (5) or more consecutive years
3. Must have won/been awarded at least one of the following: National Championship; Conference Championship; All-American or All-Conference honor; or Player of the Year honor or
4. Must hold the school record in at least one positive category in their respective sport, such as rebounds, three-point shots, yards gained, touchdowns, kill shots, blocks, record in a particular category of race, strikeouts, stolen bases, homeruns, or alike
COACHES
To qualify for entrance into the Stillman College Athletics Hall of Fame, former or current Coaches much meet the criteria outlined below:
1. Must have served as a Head Coach at Stillman College for at least five (5) years or
2. Must have coached at least one championship team (conference, regional or national) or
3. Must have won at least 60% of games played during his/her coaching tenure at Stillman College
4. Must have contributed significantly to the progress and development or his/her community, or
5. Provided extraordinary service and or support to the athletics program or whose achievements are recognized by the President of the College as being worthy of consideration into the Stillman College Athletics Hall of Fame.
CONTRIBUTORS
This category celebrates those individuals – or groups of individuals – who have made outstanding and historical contributions to Stillman College athletics outside of competition (There is no time limit for induction in this category). A maximum of two may
be inducted per year.
Any nominations that come in after Sept. 30 will be considered for the following year. A file of all candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be kept on file with the Electoral Board. However, if a nominee is not enshrined in the Hall within three years, the nominee's name will be removed from the list. Nominees must wait a period of three years before renomination.
