STILLMAN DEFEATS MOREHOUSE, CLAIMS SECOND CONSECUTIVE SIAC MEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP

ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Tigers of Stillman College defeated the Maroon Tigers of Morehouse College, 5-0, to capture its second consecutive SIAC Men's Tennis Championship. Stillman's David Torres earned tournament MVP honors, while Tigers head coach William Riley was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Coach.

In singles competition, Torres defeated Everette Reese, 6-1, 6-0, while Stillman's Aleksandar Zobec won his match over Morehouse's Jabez Beazer, 6-0, 6-2.

Stillman senior Jang-eun Lee, the two-time SIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year (2013-14), teamed with Torres to defeat the Maroon Tigers team of Kahai Hall and Phillipian Stamps, 8-4. Stillman's Yonwaba Pupuma and Jose Pojasi defeated Morehouse's team of Noah Terry and Everette Reese, 9-7.

In the doubles finale, Tigers Fernando Garcia and Aleksandar Zobec won against the Maroon Tigers squad of Chris Hawthorne and Brandon Sanders, 8-3. 

Stillman will now represent the SIAC in the NCAA South Regional, which gets underway during the first weekend in May. The Tigers overall record now stands at 27-4, with a current winning streak of 22 matches.
